27 APRIL 2010 PLAYLIST

This program focused on the lives and contributions of Civil Rights legend Robert Hicks and drummer Steve Reid, who both sadly passed due to cancer on 13 April 2010. Mr. Hicks distinguished himself by arming Black male members of his Bogalusa, LA community against the hostility of ku kux kan. Mr. Reid's excellence was valued in Europe to the extent that he lived most of his professional life in Switzerland. His few recordings are invaluable documents of the 70's avant-garde music scene.
